The clock on the dashboard glowed 11:45 PM in soft green digits as Hadi’s car glided smoothly down the dimly lit road. The hum of the engine was the only background sound apart from the occasional whisper of wind brushing past the windows. Streetlights passed overhead in slow, golden intervals, briefly illuminating the car’s interior before fading into darkness again.
