The car screeched to a halt outside the City Hospital. Faraaz jumped out even before it fully stopped, his breath ragged, heart pounding in his chest. The sight of the towering hospital building sent a fresh chill down his spine.
He ran inside, his eyes scanning desperately for the ICU sign. The receptionist tried to ask him something, but he barely registered her voice. “Omar Siddiqui. ICU. Where is he?!” he blurted breathlessly.
